Medical Interns Saved A Dying person Using Only A Pen And Newspaper #Salute

You can always trust a doctor to save a life even without a medical kit. How, you ask? Well, let Dr Savitri Devi and Dr Faizah Anjum show you, when they came across a highly critical patient.

On Sunday, while returning from a trek to Anantagiri Hills, the doctors made a pit stop at a roadside restaurant. Here, they came across a victim of a road accident, hit by a bus. The moment they rushed to his aid, they found him to be in a critical condition.

“It was 7 p.m., as the other doctors went into the restaurant we were resting when the driver said he would move the bus as there was an accident. We rushed there and waded through the crowd to see the victim lying on the road near the divider. He had feeble pulse and his pupils were dilated and we got to work,” said Dr Faizah Anjum to the Hindu.

With no medical kit on them, the doctors found the only two instruments available at hand – a pen and a newspaper. Yes! They proceeded to conduct an emergency medical procedure on him, where in using the pen they cleared his air passage and blew air into his lungs with the rolled up parchment.

After 25 minutes of continuous CPR and chest compressions, they were able to revive the patient by making his breathing stable. When asked how it felt to save the man’s life, Dr Savitri Devi said, “It gives a sense of satisfaction and purpose.”

When the ambulance arrived, they put the 30-year-old on an IV drip. He was then taken to a hospital.

Kudos to the doctors who jumped into action to save the man’s life
